I often develop internal tools for my daily use, one of them is Jacquard RTC. An application to forward hand gesture from my jacket to my Mac for more control, but during deployment process I found something interesting about how macOS application being authorized without being catch by Gatekeeper.
That process called notarization to signing apps with developer ID, and scan for malicious components on Apple notary service. And my experience…. quite bad.
I’m amazed that it took almost 4 hours to notarized before being able to publish which is a very long time. I don’t mind about waiting time though but the question I would like to know is what happened if you have to issue emergency hotfix version as soon as possible?
